Teaching Jobs in Pakistan: Salary, Requirements and What I Found on Rozee.pk
Researched on Rozee.pk and Indeed Pakistan.
When I checked Rozee.pk, I found about 101 teaching jobs in Pakistan, but only 4 were marked for freshers. Most of the remaining listings asked for previous experience, and many wanted several years of experience.
I checked Rozee.pk and Indeed Pakistan, and I wrote down what I actually saw instead of repeating what every other site says. In this guide I cover what a teaching job really looks like in Pakistan, what the salary numbers say, what skills schools ask for, how to prepare for an interview, and how to avoid fake job posts.
What Is a Teaching Job in Pakistan?
A teaching job in Pakistan usually means working as a teacher in a private school, a college or an academy. The titles I came across were very different from each other:
- English Teacher, Science Teacher, Math Teacher and Computer Teacher
- Preschool, Nursery, Kindergarten and Playgroup Teacher
- Urdu and Islamiat Teacher
- Quran Teacher
- AI and Coding Teacher (including work from home)
Rozee’s own search suggestions for the word “teacher” included Science Teacher, School Teacher, Computer Teacher, Teacher Nursery / Kindergarten / Playgroup and Math Teacher. These suggestions give you an idea of the different teaching roles available on the platform.
Online Teaching and Tutoring Are a Different Thing
On Indeed, many of the first results were online jobs, such as Online English Teacher, Online Mathematics Teacher and Python Teacher Online. Some of these are paid per hour (one listing showed Rs 1,730 to Rs 2,420 an hour, part-time) and some are paid per month. I would not compare these with a full-time school job, because the hours, the pay system and the stability are not the same.
Teacher Salary in Pakistan
For salary I used Indeed Pakistan, because Rozee did not show a salary on the listings I opened.
- Average salary: Rs 33,112 per month (based on 1.3k reported salaries)
- Typical range: Rs 15,500 to Rs 70,739 per month, depending on experience, location and the school
Indeed also shows average monthly pay by city:
| City | Average salary per month |
|---|---|
| Peshawar | Rs 50,317 |
| Gujranwala | Rs 44,554 |
| Bahawalpur | Rs 43,608 |
| Faisalabad | Rs 42,798 |
| Abbottabad | Rs 41,095 |
| Islamabad | Rs 37,876 |
| Multan | Rs 37,618 |
| Rawalpindi | Rs 31,519 |
| Karachi | Rs 27,694 |
The thing I noticed here: Karachi had the most teacher jobs on Rozee (32), but it had the lowest average salary in Indeed’s list. Peshawar had fewer jobs (12) but the highest average. More jobs does not mean better pay.
Two warnings about salary numbers:
- These are estimates from Indeed, not a promise from any school. Your real salary depends on the school, your subject, your experience and what you negotiate.
- Be careful with very wide ranges. One online posting I saw listed Rs 10,000 to Rs 150,000 a month. A range that wide does not tell you what you will actually earn.
While searching, I also saw Google’s AI summary show a different average for Islamabad than the Indeed page itself. For anything you plan to quote or decide on, open the original page.
Requirements for Teaching Jobs in Pakistan
Every school writes its own requirements, so the only reliable way is to open the full listing and read it before you apply. What I can tell you is which skills kept showing up in Rozee’s skills filter for teacher jobs:
- Lesson Planning (26 listings)
- Classroom Management (22 listings)
- Student Assessment (17 listings)
- Communication (16 listings)
These were among the skills that appeared frequently in the Rozee results I checked. If you have these skills, your CV should show them with real examples rather than simply listing them.
What I Found on Rozee.pk
This is the part I did myself. I searched “teacher” on Rozee.pk and went through the filters.
- Number of jobs: about 101 teacher jobs.
- Cities: Karachi 32, Lahore 23, Peshawar 12, Islamabad 9, Rawalpindi 4, Multan 3, Faisalabad 2.
- Experience: Fresh 4, 1 Year 3, 2 Years 25, 3 Years 7, 5 Years 62.
- Gender: 79 listings had no preference, 20 mentioned Female and only 2 mentioned Male.
- Remote work: only 2 Remote and 2 Hybrid listings.
A few other things I noticed:
- Searching “teaching” showed no results at all, but “teacher” worked. If Rozee says nothing was found, try a different word before you give up.
- Rozee’s filters are not very reliable for school jobs. Only 8 listings were under the Education/Training industry, and some teacher jobs carried odd skill tags that had nothing to do with teaching. I would search by job title and read the description instead of trusting the filters.
- Most listings I opened were from private schools in cities like Peshawar, Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad, and many were posted within a few days of each other.
Fresher Tips for Teaching Jobs in Pakistan: What I Would Do
Being honest: with only 4 fresher jobs out of about 101, the first job will not be easy. Here is what I would do in your place.
- Apply to many listings, not five. With so few fresher seats, sending a handful of applications is not enough.
- Read the experience line carefully. 62 listings fall under the “5 Years” filter, but I could not tell from the filter alone whether that is a strict minimum. I would still open the listing and read the description before skipping it.
- Look at preschool and junior school roles. I saw many listings for Preschool, Nursery and Junior School teachers.
- Build proof of teaching. Prepare one sample lesson plan, and if you have given tuition or volunteered to teach, write it on your CV with details.
- Be ready for a demo lesson. Some schools may ask candidates to teach a short class during the interview, so it is worth preparing one in advance.
- Keep your CV simple and clear. Put your subject, your qualification and your teaching-related experience on the first page.
Common Teaching Interview Questions
Here are some teaching interview questions worth preparing for.
- Why do you want to become a teacher? Give a real reason, not a memorized line.
- How would you handle a noisy or distracted class? Describe one or two practical steps you would take.
- How would you help a student who is falling behind? Mention how you would find the problem and follow up.
- Can you plan a short lesson on one topic from your subject? Practice this one out loud.
- How do you check whether students have understood? Talk about questions, short quizzes and written work.
- How would you talk to a parent who is unhappy with their child’s marks? Show that you can stay calm and respectful.
Scam Warning: How to Avoid Fake Teaching Jobs
Rozee.pk has a “Beware! Reported Companies” link at the top of its homepage, which shows that even big job sites have to deal with fake employers. Whichever site you use, watch for these red flags:
- Someone asks you to pay money for an interview, registration, training or a uniform
- The post has no school name, no address or no way to check who the employer is
- You are only asked to contact a personal WhatsApp number
- The salary or the promise sounds unrealistic for the work
- You are offered the job without any interview
Before you go, search for the school online, check that it has a real address and visit it if you can. Do not send your CNIC or bank details until you are sure the employer is real.

Are there teaching jobs for freshers?
When I checked Rozee.pk, about 4 of the 101 teacher jobs were marked for freshers, while 3 more asked for 1 year of experience. These numbers can change as new jobs are posted and old listings are removed, so check the latest listings before you apply.

In Indeed’s list of average salaries by city, Peshawar was the highest at Rs 50,317 per month, and Karachi was the lowest of the nine listed cities at Rs 27,694.

Yes. Indeed showed many online roles, some paid per hour and some per month. They work differently from a normal school job, so compare them carefully.
